McGuinty Government Proves it is Out of Touch with Average Ontario Family
News:
The legislative season ended last week, and it was wrought with examples of how the McGuinty government has lost touch with the average Ontario family.
First we learned that the budget would not be balanced for eight years, potentially longer than an entire business cycle of boom and bust. Next, we found out that hydro rates are increasing before the HST even comes into effect, meaning the additional tax will be on top of an increased hydro rate. Then the McGuinty government tried to ram through a new sex-ed curriculum, and acknowledged they failed to consult with parents. Finally, the government demonstrated little sensitivity to independent pharmacists, when they decided to cut the funding that helps keep small pharmacies open, even though for some they represent the only front-line healthcare provider available.
The McGuinty Liberals have lost touch with the average Ontarian. The policies that they rammed through the House with such haste are costing taxpayers. Ontarians are paying more but getting less.
Quotes:
“The actions of the McGuinty Liberals prove that they are out of touch with the average Ontarian. The fact that the budget was used to pass through so many new policies, without taking the proper time to think about the consequences, was very troubling. And the one thing we really wanted from the budget, a plan to balance the books, was completely missing. We got an eight year plan, which is contingent on so many things not going wrong.”

“Failing to consult with small businesses, pharmacists, parents, Ontarians, has been the major flaw in the McGuinty government’s policies. I am not sure why they have decided to take this route. All it does is leave people wondering where they came up with these ideas, because they don’t resonate with the average Ontario family.”
